The West Ham United Fan Advisory Board (FAB) notes media reports concerning a senior football executive facing civil legal action relating to alleged sexual offences.
Given the seriousness of these allegations, the FAB raised a clear and specific question at the Club’s meeting on 26 February 2026, placing the following statement on record:
“The Sun ran a newspaper article last Friday. And I don’t know if you read it, but it was a case that was, they said, dropped. It’s actually discontinued, the legal term. We need to know, for the avoidance of any doubt whatsoever, that this Premier League executive referenced in this recent national media reporting, which is The Sun, about a discontinued historic legal case, there’s no current, past or present role formal or informal at West Ham United or its ownership structure and executive leadership”.
This question has been put to the Club on two separate occasions.
On neither occasion has the Club provided a direct answer to that question.
Instead, the Club has stated that there is “no investigation involving West Ham United”, that it “cannot comment on unverified media speculation”, and has referred the Supporter Representative back to a previous general statement.
Those responses do not address the question that was asked.
The FAB did not ask about investigations into West Ham United, nor did it seek comment on the speculation. The question was precise: whether the individual referenced has, or has had, any formal or informal connection to West Ham United, its ownership structure, or its executive leadership.
That question remains unanswered. Twice.
This is not a technical distinction, it really is a matter of transparency and trust.
Where allegations of this nature are in the public domain, supporters are entitled to clear and unequivocal reassurance that someone working for the Club is not connected in any way. The continued failure to provide that clarity risks unnecessary speculation and reputational damage to West Ham United.
For the avoidance of doubt:
The FAB has no knowledge of the actual identity of the individual concerned;
The FAB has received no confirmation that the individual has no connection to West Ham United;
The FAB is not involved in, and has no visibility of, any legal proceedings relating to this matter.
The FAB exists to represent supporters and to uphold standards of transparency and accountability. On an issue of this seriousness, those standards must apply without exception.
We therefore repeat our request: the Club should provide a clear and direct statement confirming whether the individual concerned has any current or past association—formal or informal—with West Ham United, its ownership structure, or its executive leadership.
Answers to different questions are not answers.
Until that clarity is provided, the FAB will continue to pursue this matter on behalf of supporters.
